USD/CAD bias held bullish on September 19, 2026

The Canadian dollar weakened against major currencies in the week ending September 18 as Fed expectations and US yields supported the US dollar. Coverage also pointed to the US-Canada rate gap and trade tensions, alongside shifting Bank of Canada expectations with rising odds of a rate hike this year and views that rate path risks tilt earlier. For USDCAD, this puts both US rates and Bank of Canada rate expectations in focus.
