GBP/USD bias held neutral on September 19, 2026

The Pound got a temporary lift from stronger-than-expected UK retail sales and a cooler dollar, with MUFG also pointing to support from the Bank of England's QT overhaul for the gilt curve and sterling. Those gains faded as an oil shock returned, leaving sterling around seven-week lows while the Bank of England kept policy on hold.
