US Dollar Index bias turned neutral on September 19, 2026

The U.S. Dollar Index is holding firmly above 100.00 and tested near 100.35, its late July high, following a hawkish Federal Reserve stance that included support for a rate hike as inflation broadens beyond 3%. The move has left the euro on track for a weekly loss against the dollar. Markets are also weighing the Bank of Japan's rate increase, after which the dollar index nudged to a fresh high before slipping back.
