USD/JPY bias held neutral on September 13, 2026

CFTC positioning data show a yen reversal leading a broader positioning reset, and speculators have moved to a positive yen stance for the first time since February. At the same time, surging inflation has put interest rates back in focus ahead of central bank meetings in Japan, the US and UK, with Goldman Sachs backing a 25 basis point Fed hike after CPI. Those developments matter for USDJPY because they affect relative rate expectations and speculative positioning in the pair.
